Idol Worship is Symbolism!

Idol worship is common in Hindu religion. We can see varied Pantheon each God having a myth behind. Many arose the questions "How a stone idol supposed to grant you wishes?", "We believe God is omnipotent then why we worship God as Idols and not as other forms?"  Etc Etc ... 'n' Number of questions.. Many disapprove Idol Worship too!

First of all I would like to say that Idol worship has a great advantage and significant importance in passing on the spiritual information down many years through generation after generation. Idols deal with Symbolism.  I will list out the importance of idol worship as far as i know...

1. It is easier to memorize a picture rather than memorizing a large paragraph of 50 lines. So our ancestors designed God's form as Statues to make easier to learn the form of Gods.

2. Looking closer to Idols we can note each idol has specific standing/sitting pose, finger positions, ornaments, colors, direction, size, shape, etc...  Each part has a separate meaning behind it. For example: Considering the statue of Lord Shiva, he sits in Padmasana with chin mudra (actual meditative pose), His blue neck indicating Vishudhi Chakra (Throat Chatkra-blue color), Eye on forehead meaning the Third-Eye (Pineal Gland), etc.. Likewise each Idol represent each important parts in Human Body, in fact the idols remind us of Human body more than reminding God!

3. The ancient Puranas described Gods in Sanskrit verses, but how many us know Sanskrit language? But to understand the idols we need not know any language! Idols can be exposed to all people of all language and culture and the message expressed is always the same.

4. If the information are passed through books and ears then certainly at one point the information transmitted could bear errors and thus leading to misinterpretation. But the Idols can last long for many thousand years, even more than ancient palm leaf books, thus the information is never altered from its original form and we are able to extract the information again exactly as it was designed to deliver.

5. Idols can be created by incorporating Sacred Geometry in 3 dimensions and so Idols could have the property of influencing its environment in positive way.

There are lots of reasons, far than a normal man can comprehend. As of now, if we cant see the Idols as Gods then lets see Idols as Interpretation of Human Body . Idol Worship is more a Symbolism!

What is Spiritualism?

One of my Master gave a nice explanation to this question today.

It is Being yourself! Being Human! No more than that...!!!

And it has no objective or desire behind it. It is a goalless Spontaneous want to feel our self and to realize the truth that we are not this body, we are not this mind.

Pineal Gland - The Third Eye

Years ago i was very obsessed with the Third Eye concept, of course now also, but it was only last year i discovered that all these times the ancestors were referring the Pineal Gland as the Third Eye!

Check whether your thoughts are clear!

Today one of my master asked me to sit in padmasana and breath profoundly, to keep my palm over my tummy and observe what happens when I inhale and exhale. I should observe and say whether my tummy expands or contracts when I breath in. This is a small test to check whether you have a clear thinking ability...
If you are reading this you also can sit comfortably, close your eyes and observe and check the results below...

Result:
While Inhalation: If your tummy expands then you have clear thinking! So this means while Exhalation your tummy should contract..

Contrarily if your tummy expands while exhalation and contracts while inhalation then something is wrong with you!!

Dont worry if your results are negative! Just let it go.. Do meditation and Pranayama.. You will become alright in no time! Stay Happy and Healthy!!!

Guided Meditation - A Helping hand

We all know about the normal meditation techniques. We used to sit calm, crosslegged, breath deep, and start concentrating within us and slowly start meditation. A new meditation technique came in handy for me as i mostly live in noisy environment where we cant expect to sit in a peaceful room and meditate. Guided meditation is a technique where the meditator concentrates on something which originates from an outer source, for example, the most common guided meditation technique is Meditation using Music. A smooth music is played to facilitate the meditator and the meditator concentrates on the music and start meditation.

What I used to do is upload some smooth music (mostly New Age genre) into my phone and whenever i want to meditate i used to plug in my earphones and start the music, thus gaining an advantage if isolating myself from my noisy environment. Let the Music flow inside our body and mind. Let emotions change with the music we listen. Meanwhile slowly start meditation and there on follow what other techniques you want to.

I really found this technique very useful in opening my third eye all by myself with little time spent for meditation. Seriously it took me nearly six sessions of meditation (each half an hour duration) every consecutive night and finally i tasted the fruit "Opening of Third Eye"!

Note: By nature i am more inclined towards music. Music moves me and i can even change my mood by listening to selective music. I am a musician too, can play 3 musical instruments. Maybe this character of me is the success behind Music guided meditation. Other guided meditation techniques also include meditation using other's voice or chanting, etc etc etc.. Music Meditation suites me well, and you should discover what suites you well!
